Maybe Theyre Magic Essays - Maybe, Stephen Sondheim, Magic

Maybe They're Magic Maybe They're Magic Stephen Sondheim, in my opinion, is one of the most gifted lyricist and songwriters of all time. He uses many witty comparisons, beautiful allusions, and variations of tempo to give each song a uniqueness and identity of its own. This identity is also created for each individual character through the songs, and tactfully conveys their inner feelings. The song Maybe Theyre Magic is one small example of these classic Sondheim characteristics. Sung by the baker and his wife, the song is about their struggle to achieve what they want: to have a child. Discretely, though, each character's sense of self, and inner thoughts are communicated by the movement of the song; the way the characters bicker exhibits the gravity of the matter, and the audience can actually hear the thoughts in their minds. This matter of not being able to bear children is not a simply answered problem, and although this problem is very specific, the language used is very open-ended. This makes it easier for the audie nce to relate this story to obstacles in their own lives, and keeps them interested. Throughout the song the wifes dialogue is stressing that one must do whatever is needed to survive, and whatever it takes to get what one wants. She quotes, Everyone tells tiny lies, whats important, really, is the size. This song shows the realistic attitude, and stubbornness of the wife's character. She is also a character that is very persistent; her husband is pleading with her to go home, and trying to take her mind off the matter at hand, and she continues with her words. Finally, the bakers wife wins at her strategy to get her husband to cheat just a little bit to reach their goal, and so they're off to tackle the obstacle. A lot is also revealed about the baker in the song Maybe Theyre Magic; he does not say much during the song, but his few words show how he is struggling inside with the beliefs that his wifes opinion is wrong, and that he doesnt want to consider her opinion. This draws him out to demonstrate the era, as well, because he thinks that the woman's place is in the home, struggles with listening to his wife's opinion, and holds the position that he can do everything himself. The end of the song is quite funny, because it's final words are If the end is right, it justifies the beans! If taken at face value, this means that the action prior (tricking a boy into trading a cow away for some magic beans) will be justified. But it is also possible to read further into this comment and think none of this is really going to be important later, or That our lives aren't really important in the grand scheme of the world. thus another reason why Sondheim is a wonderfully creative writer. Tips on Writing a Brilliant Persuasive Essay

Tips on Writing a Brilliant Persuasive Essay The target of any persuasive paper is to convince your audience of your own beliefs. In other words, you have to persuade that your strong idea is more legitimate than all other related thoughts. Usually, authors reach this goal through stating logical arguments and expressing their emotions. Evidence based on the most recent sources also works. A convincing essay can be written in many different ways. So, there is no single correct answer. Introduction Paragraph A persuasive essay also starts with an introduction. Here you can read more about general essay writing tips. Students are taught to divide any essay into three parts: introduction, body, and conclusion. In fact, introduction all alone can be separated into three parts as well. Thus, students have to write an attention-catcher, thesis statement, and preview. The last one figures as a summary, and it’s really hard to make a summary which consists of just one sentence. The first paragraph has to make the greatest impact on your reader. It should not contain any evidence or details, but an argument. Convince your readers to have a look at your presentation from cover to cover in the very first paragraph. Does it sound incredible? Well, a short course in marketing may improve your ability to influence other people’s minds. Actually, you do not have to be an expert to make a reader read your argumentative paper to the end. All you have to do is to: Choose an interesting and up-to-date topic Gather opposing views Collect relevant sources for evidence Arrange all facts in a logical order Take some real-life examples Defend strong viewpoint and state it in your conclusion By coming back to the introduction of your persuasive essay, we should say that reviewing the main points has to be composed of details. It should not be formed without any reasons. It is crucial to understand how to develop the beginning of your persuasive paper as it is the most important part of any school or college writing assignment. Help with Planning a Strong Persuasive Essay First and for most, a student has to select a viewpoint. Take into account what sides of the coin exist. Decide on which argument sounds more objective. Understand the goal of your paper meaning the solution you’re going to offer. Next, you should analyze your target audience. Who is your reader? Also, you’ll have to determine the reader’s position on the given argumentative essay topic. Is it the same as yours, neutral, or opposing? Anyway, you must provide enough evidence based on the credible sources to the entire audience. Research – find all up-to-date and relevant information Are the related issues supporting your point? It’s okay to feel you might be wrong. The main goal of the persuasive essay is to try to convince your reader in your skills even if he truth is laying behind. It is a talent to make people believe in what you say no matter what the facts tell. Go beyond your knowledge and experience – present something new in your paper. You may contact online experts to get more ideas for your persuasive paper. Check the prices right now! Format and organize your persuasive essay in a proper manner The structure is what really matters when you want to ensure people in your ideas and position regarding a specific topic. This is how presidents win elections. You have to keep just three things in mind: Your purpose Your audience Your persuasive essay topic Not to get lost in all those interrelated points, we would recommend making a list of all ideas for the convincing essay. It might be in the shape of bullet point. Create an outline and stick to it. Thus, you’ll never get lost in those bushes. Other Helpful Recommendations Every student must be well informed about the persuasive essay topic. If you have an opportunity to pick one on your own, it is necessary to make sure you have gathered enough primary sources. Also, check whether the topic is fresh and inspiring. The other helpful tips on writing a convincing paper include: Testing your thesis statement. It is the last sentence of the first paragraph which is known as an introduction, and it should sound rather convincing. It should always have two sides of the coin. It must be yet debatable and obvious at the same time. We mean that any good fact should still have an opposing viewpoint to be the main topic of a persuasive essay. Disproving the opposing arguments. You should research and study each opposing view deeply before arguing it in your paper. Moreover, your evidence should sound reasonable. Try to find mistakes and deviations in the words of your rivals. Supporting personal position with the credible evidence. It has to appeal to reason. The last logical action from our team is to share some tips on the evidence. To support the main argument of your persuasive essay, you have to involve several different tools: Arguments and Facts  - A powerful means of convincing. The persuasive essay may be based on your own experience, skills, investigation, and observation. Don’t fear to defend your point of view. Never confuse facts with truths. Just make sure that your chosen statistics come from the credible and recent sources. Refer to them and cite whatever you consider being persuasive and interesting on the last page known as Bibliography or References. A View of Prejudice as Described in Lorraine Hansberry’s Play, A Raisin In The Sun

A View of Prejudice as Described in Lorraine Hansberry’s Play, A Raisin In The Sun A Raisin in the Sun A raisin in the sun is a play about an African American family that is going to receive an inheritance because of a death in the family. In this play their is sexism, racism, and many other cultural differences that we might not have been able to see if we were not in the minority until this play. The African American family in this play is the Younger family there are five youngers living in one small apartment. I think the most important family member is Mama, she is the glue to the whole family and keeps everyone in line. Then theres Walter lee Younger which is mamas son he works as a chauffeur and thinks he is head of the household. Walters wifes name is Ruth she usually minds her own business more than the rest of the family. Mamas daughters name is Beneatha younger she is an aspiring doctor and she knows she can do it even with her being an African American woman. Then theres the youngest which you do not really hear a lot about he is walter and ruths son his name is travis all he wants to do is have a real house. A Raisin in the Sun is a play about the Younger family and it is based in the 1950s while racism and sexism were still taken very serious by many. The Youngers are about to receive an insurance check for ten-thousand dollars which was a lot back in the 1950s. they are receiving this check because Mr. Younger mamas husband died and left them money to take care of themselves because he worked until the day he died. Everyone in the younger family want something different out of the inheritance money. Mama wants to buy a house where her family will not have to struggle anymore. Mamas son walter wants to buy a liquor store with his friends so he can give the family everything they need. Beneatha who wants to become a doctor wants the money to go towards her schooling so she can help people and prove everyone wrong. Ruth and Travis do not really want anything specific but, everyone to be happy. Ruth finds out that she is pregnant with walters second child which they dont have any room for and beenie says â€Å"where is he going to sleep the roof† and ruth gets sad and almost passes out. this shows that they are all under a lot of stress and ruth feels guilty for having another baby. While mama and beenie know about the baby walter doesnt find out until later when beenies friend from africa comes over and they go in the room. Beneatha has a friend from africa bring her things from his homeland so she feels like she is finding her true self which is saying that she doesnt know who she really is and she is supposed to be the one with the strong mind on her shoulders. When the inheritance arrives walter is has a nervous breakdown and leaves the house for a week or so and mama goes looking for him. mama doesnt like seeing her son sad so she eventually ends up giving walter half the money saying to put two thousand in a bank account for bennie his younger sisters schooling and to keep the rest for himself. the money that mama gave walter never gets put into a bank account and ends up getting stolen by his friend Willy Harris.Walter never gets to accomplish his dream of having a liquor store. Meanwhile when walter was losing over half of the inheritance money mama is buying a house that will fit their needs, is in a good neighborhood, and is in her budget. The house that she picks isnt in an African American neighborhood and so she gets a visit from the welcoming committee. A man named Mr. Karl Linder is the welcoming committee and at first the Youngers think he is a nice man and that he wants to help but, then they find out that he only wants to pay them off to not live in the white neighborhood. the white man says that he doesnt want to ruin the block with how much the people who live their work for what they have by â€Å"certain kind of people moving in†. This causes the Youngers to become closer and move in to the new house. Throughout the play their are times that i wondered why would or rather how could people be so set on ruining other peoples lives. I grew up with many different raced people around me throughout my life so i will never fully understand the thought process of racist people. The Youngers seem to be portrayed as hard working people and they want whats best for their family it doesnt make a difference what color they are i would of still watched it the same with no judgement. Racism in the housing industry has been peppered with racism even up into modern times. The racism that is in the housing industry today are not only Towards African Americans its hispanics, whites, and any race. White people can be put out of their house by hispanics that are in gangs and even by other white people throughout the united states. But, most of the racism is pointed toward hispanics and how everyone thinks if you are colored you need to be a gang member of if you dress a certain way you are a gang member. We see it everyday on the news how police officers are even racist and arrest people for no reason. No one knows it happens in the communities also. I have seen people get shot of badly hurt by people that are supposedly protecting their community, Everyone is a victim of some kind of racism in their life even when we are younger. I do not think that people should not feel safe in their own home because of neighborhood racism. In the CBS news Ilyce Glink says Although weve come a long way from blatant, in-your-face housing injustice, racial discrimination still exists, said HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan. Just because its become less obvious doesnt mean that its less harmful. This statement is completely true many people die because of community racism. Racism in A Raisin in the Sun is almost sickening to most people and i hope that more people see this play to help spread the word about how African American people were treated in the 1950s. Racism is still alive today through communities that want one color out of their neighborhood which is not right either. I hope people eventually learn how not to be racist.

Substance dualism is necessary for beings to have free will Essay - 1

Substance dualism is necessary for beings to have free will - Essay Example Since the mind is not physical, it cannot be bound by physical laws that govern the body, thus, beings are free not only to do as they please, but also to do otherwise than they usually do. In this respect, responsible human actions are not related to mechanical causation as presupposed by materialism, the philosophical belief that humans are physical beings whose motions are bound by laws of physics (Wartick). A strong sense of free will is supported by dualism, unlike other philosophical thoughts such as materialism because, according to Descartes, humans have an infinite will to act involuntarily and to be held accountable for their actions, and an understanding capable of showing those clear and distinct perceptions. This paper proposes that substance duality is necessary for individuals to have a free will, not only to do as they please, but also to do contrary to their conventional ways by building a strong case for duality and disqualifying contrary opinion. Intentionality, of ten referred to as the ‘of-ness’ or ‘about-ness’ of mental states is undoubtedly the strongest argument in favor of dualism (â€Å"Case for dualism†); physical objects are spatial and have specific shapes unlike mental states such as thoughts and senses that are non-spatial. However, physical objects cannot be about or of each other because ‘about-ness’ or ‘of-ness’ is exclusively a mental phenomenon that is not within the physical realms, therefore, the lack of an equivalent of the intentionality phenomenon in the physical reality is a strong case for duality. On the contrary, mental states have ‘about-ness’ and ‘of-ness’; for instance, if one thinks that a certain painting is beautiful, then it means that the individual’s thought that the painting is beautiful is about the painting and cannot be reduced to any conceivable physical fact about the individual’s mind. Additionally, the f act that the individual’s thought that a painting is beautiful is about the painting cannot be identified with their disposition to react in certain ways like exclaiming and marveling verbally after viewing the painting. In this respect, an individual’s thinking is beyond the mere predisposition or tendency to act in certain ways because if that was not the case then it would automatically imply that individuals would never be aware of what they were thinking about until and after a corresponding behavior has been manifested physically. The implication for this intentionality argument, therefore, is that intentional mental states are purely holistic in nature and are not dependent on any physical manifestation, and because of its intentionality, the mind is very distinct from material non-mental things that are purely physical and mechanical in nature. In this respect, since no physical phenomenon has that aspect, intentionality is not a construct of the physical world , but a mental phenomenon; the absence of a counterpart feature in physical materialism proves that it is possible for the mental to exist separately, unaffected by the physical. Following this intentionality argument, dualism provides strong case for free will because then it implies that individuals have a limitless capacity to think on their own accord and to act on their own accord as well, voluntarily. The intentionality feature makes a great case for the argument that the mind and the body are purely

Personal Statement Example My excellent interpersonal skills help me to communicate business information to my target audience by preparing crisp and well thought out presentations. I consider myself a social person for I like spending time with my families and friends. All these factors contribute towards the success of an organization and therefore I have tried my level best to learn these skills through practical and theoretical knowledge. My father is an entrepreneur and is running his own business for almost 15 years. As a child I accompanied my father to various business meeting and negotiations. Teenage Life Essay -- essays research papers

People who are nostalgic about childhood, were obviously never children. Few people can remember the truth about adolescence. Their minds "censor" their memories; and have them believe that being a teenager was was one big party, free of cares and responsibilities. Well let me say this, you couldnOt be more wrong if you had a lobotomy. There aren't that many adults around who realise what adolescence was really like. The anguish, the fear, the anxiety, the stress. People don't remember those problems because they want to forget them. The truth of the matter is, is that being a teenager is hard, right from the beginning, and it doesn't get any easier. We are such easy prey for big name companies who advertise using the pressure of popularity, looks and sex to force us to buy their product that, as it turns out, we never wanted or needed in the first place. Our lives are filled with stress. One of the greatest sources of pressure is school. Where we are herded like cattle from room to room, chewing on our cud, while the hay of knowledge is force fed to us as we are trying our hardest to gulp it down as more and more is shovelled in. Another great source of pressure is ourselves. We try our hardest to be accepted among a certain group or circle. Whereas most of the time we are rejected and we become depressed. Depression, another problem, along with ignorance and apathy that thwarts our lives. A wise man when questioned about his view on ignorance and apathy, said &...

Orthodox Jewish Wedding Essay

Marriage is normally a ceremony done in churches, in government premises, or in modern ones like beaches and gardens. It is usually done as a sign of love between two people. Marriage used to be a very sacred ceremony as two people say their vows to each other. Different cultures do this in different manners. In this paper, we will discover how the Orthodox Jewish wedding is done. This would prove the diversity of cultures in the world and how the Jewish community carries out their traditions and belief. This is divided into three parts that include the preparations done before the wedding, the set up days before the wedding and the wedding proper. When two people fall in love, what they want to end up mostly is a bride and a groom or a husband and a wife. Although it is altered by some other reasons in the modern times, the idea of marriage is still considered sacred by most of us. Although socio-economic status, health, dynasty and other things affect the people’s view on marriage, we still cannot take away the fact that the people who get married always ask for a happy life. Whatever reason they may have, the bottom line is still that they are searching for contentment in any way. A Jewish wedding day, the same with all other religions, is something that they really celebrate. Different kinds of rituals happen weeks before and during this day, in consideration of their history and heritage. As soon as the couple gets engaged, rituals already take place. It includes breaking a plate to represent the temples in Jerusalem that were destructed. It is to signify that even if they are enjoying in the celebration of the wedding, they are still saddened with the fact that these temples were destroyed before. It is also usual for the parents to do the arrangement of the wedding, with the help of someone like a match-maker called Yenta. Although this is so, the groom is still required to ask the bride’s father for her hand in marriage and to pay a dowry in exchange of the bride (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. bbc. co. uk/religion/religions/judaism/rites/weddings_1. shtml). Judaism sees this practice as sacred. They think that without a man and a woman, each of the sexes will never be complete. They complement each other and each compensates what the other loses. They also teach in their doctrines that any person without getting married doesn’t experience the absolute joy and contentment in this life. It means that being married gives satisfaction to people, especially when they are blessed by God. When referring to marriage, they usually use the term â€Å"sanctification† which usually refers to the spirituality of the bond that binds two people and of the commandment made by God. They also see it as something that has a purpose. They view marriage as a perquisite to reproduction and friendship. It is both procreation and companionship. In the bible, as they believe, â€Å"It is not good for a man to be alone†. It is also a practice of each person’s legal rights through a contractual agreement where they sign on. Although there were times when the Jews were dispersed all over the world, they are still successful in preserving this practice as they live. This is probably because they really believe in the practice, because through it, history proves that families stayed stable and happy when they underwent the same kind of marriage . Jewish weddings are almost the same. They are made easier by the Rabbis by asking for a very minimal requirement. The Rabbis is the one who makes the laws in this kind of ritual (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. confetti. co. uk/article/view/5054-7598-0-). Marriage in the Orthodox Jewish is very much full of traditions that show practice and devotion. In planning their weddings, every detail is very important. They take the preparation as a challenge of their capacity and a challenge to celebrate the wedding successfully. They pay too much attention to all the needs of the ceremony that makes every wedding a perfect one. The Orthodox Jews are believed to be the strictest among the strands of the Jewish faith. Their wedding ceremony is done by combining the legal and religious aspects of marriage. In case one of the couple is non-Jewish, he or she is asked to convert to the same religion. They believe that happiness cannot be achieved if they don’t undergo marriage, which is a license to fulfillment in the world. Also, it is said that when they get married, they don’t just focus on material and temporal elements of the preparation, but they also assure that their doctrines are properly carried out and that their spiritual and moral preparedness is enveloped on the marriage itself. It just proves that although their marriage is after a good life on earth, they still put in more consideration the supernatural and their religion per se (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. confetti. co. uk/article/view/5054-7598-0-). Planning an Orthodox Jewish wedding is very tedious. They must consider a lot of things for them to be able to come up with a successful one. Most of the Jewish couple provides a planner that would make it easier for them to see chronologically their plans and the specifics of the ceremony. Through that, they will be able to get organized and efficient in the planning of the main event. The date of the wedding is usually known after they already register with a synagogue and Rabbi at the Chief Rabbi’s office. The time of the day and the day itself are also given much attention to in planning a wedding. It is usual to marry in the afternoon or in the evening, but you can also marry anytime of the day according to what the couple desires. Most of them, however, choose to marry on days like Sunday and Tuesday. It is also not allowed to do the wedding three weeks between July and August and on the Sabbath of festival days (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Passover Shavuot, and Sukkoth). In case, they want to get married on a Saturday, they prohibit doing the ceremony earlier than two hours before the sun is down (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. onfetti. co. uk/article/view/5054-7598-0-). In general, the first thing to do in planning it is to choose a date that they both want. They usually choose special days like the birth or the death of their rabbis to make a more meaningful celebration. Like other people getting married, they choose a date that means something to them or a date that is significant in their relationship. They also must specify a place or a venue which has enough space for dancing and a wide area where you can put a divider to separate men and women for modesty’s sake. They are very much particular with modesty which they can prove by separating people of different sexes during the wedding ceremony. They must also choose a rabbi to preside the wedding ceremony and a sofer or a Jewish scribe to take charge of the Ketuba or the marriage contract. After that, they must tell their relatives and friends about the wedding and invite them to attend on it. Attendees on this kind of practice matters a lot to the couple because the wedding would not mean anything at all without the presence of a specific number of people. Once they confirm their attendance, they can already inform the caterer about the approximate number of visitors. This is usually done to avoid hassles to both families of the groom and the bride and to assure that everyone eats enough as they celebrate that most important part of their couple life. After that, they must inform those people who are taking part in the wedding to dress accordingly. This is also a sign of respect to the practice. The female ones must use clothes covering the knees and the arms to the elbows, while the married ones must cover their air. Men must wear yarmulkes. The couple must make the wedding canopy from a cloth that is velvet or from a prayer shawl. This is to signify the clouds that helped Jews with everything when they were in the desert. They must make sure that they have the dress, rings without anything engraved in them, and the other things. The bride must make sure she has a veil thicker than the others’ to wear it on the wedding day. From that, they must find a schedule to do the veiling ritual prior the wedding ceremony. It is said that such a practice symbolizes the biblical story that happened between Jacob and Rachel, when they planned to get married. They must assign seven men to utter the words of blessings with a wine. Lastly, they must secure a room for the couple where they can spend on after the wedding proper. They are expected to stay there before they eat and spend time together alone for a certain period (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. ehow. com/how_2077192_plan-orthodox-jewish-wedding. html). The wedding invitation is usually two sided and has an English translation at the right side. It does not ask for the person’s presence, instead it is asking people to â€Å"dance at† or â€Å"share in the joy of†. In this kind of ritual, visitors are very important, because they play a very vital role in the process. The copies of the invitation may be distributed and may be given by the couple or both of their parents. Sometimes, the invitation also includes biblical quotes to explain people why such thing is done or to further elaborate the importance of each part of the program (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). All of the guests are provided with copy of the program for them to know exactly what part they are in during the wedding proper. It may also include some Ketuba texts, the vendors’ names, a note coming from the bridal couple and some explanations of the different elements of the ceremony. This is also done to avoid unnecessary noises when they ask others why a particular thing is done (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). The Orthodox bride must prepare something white, while the groom must have a short white linen robe called a kittel. The bride is also expected to visit mikyah in the morning of her wedding. This is done to make sure that the bride undergoes a ritual bath that is believed to purify her and to make her a better woman as she gets married (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). It is also a must, that in able for a couple to get married in the Orthodox Jewish tradition, it is a perquisite that their parents also married in the same manner. Usually, both of their parents underwent the same practice. If in case their parents did not undergo the practice, they must talk to the rabbi for clarification. The ceremony includes singing and reading from the psalms. The wedding usually takes an hour before it finally ends. The wedding can actually occur anywhere, depending on what the groom and the bride choose. Given a desired venue, the bride or the Kallah and the groom or the Chatan, must stand under a canopy. The venue as chosen by them is usually paid by the bride’s parents. The validity of the wedding depends on the number of males present. There must e ten of them, which in their tradition, is called minyan (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. confetti. co. uk/article/view/5054-7598-0-). Prior to the ceremony, the groom may spend time with his friends as eat and drink together on a table, called chassans tisch. Brides, on the other hand, take three or seven times circling her groom which is also a practice based on their bible (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). When the guests arrive on the wedding day, males go with the groom in a certain room, while the female ones go with the bride in another room where she sits on a throne-type chair. This is called â€Å"public beckoning† and may be spent with just family and other guests (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. eddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). A service usually starts with the opening from the rabbi, followed by a bride being escorted to the canopy. It is then followed by a ritual of circling the groom by the bride. This also has a hidden meaning. The benedictions are read after and then the sharing of the cup of wine. The exchange of the rings is then done, followed by the reading of ketuba. Another cup of wine is offered which is shared by the groom and the bride. It was first blessed and told with a prayer for the companionship and joy of the newly wed. Later on, they are proclaimed as husband and wife and they are showered with rice and are greeted with a toast (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). During the marriage proper, the groom is asked to read from the Torah. That ritual is called Aufruf. Further, it is like a way of congratulating the couple, and letting the public know that they are getting married soon. In the same practice, some brides throw candies and nuts as he finishes the recitation of the benedictions. Through that, they are able to ask for a sweet and fertile life. The groom gives his bride a ring that is a sign of love. It is put on the bride’s right index finger, up to the second knuckle. It is so, because they believe that such a finger points to the soul and that it is used in pointing when they are reading the Torah. On the contrary, she puts the ring on his left ring finger. As they are doing this, they are reciting a Hebrew statement called haray aht (Retrieved on December 11, 2008 from http://www. weddingdetails. com/lore/jewish. cfm). In summary, preparing for the Orthodox Jewish Wedding is no easy thing. It requires a lot of effort to come up with an acceptable wedding that takes in consideration both the earthly and the religious aspect of life. Through this paper, we can also picture that even if there are still more days before the wedding, the people are already busy planning the event and are already doing some practices for the benefit of the big day. The wedding proper shows that values of these people as they do the rituals associated with getting married. It is also very obvious that they are really trying hard to avoid getting away from the proper way of doing it. Before and after the wedding, they are very optimistic about their, because of their trust to the Almighty. Everyone is looking forward to a happy and a blessed life ahead as they undergo the blessing of God through marriage. Celebration of their wedding is really something that the Jewish community must really be proud of. It is full of traditions that only their group inhibits and practices as well. Their culture is very rich and admirable. This is only a proof that cultures vary from place to place and that each culture has its beauty that everyone can admire. It is the Jewish community’s pride to have this and definitely, there are not just proud, but happy about acquiring this kind of culture.

Following a Journalist

Robert J. Samuel persuasive style emphasizes his view on the economy and how it has its ups and downs. He uses literary devices such as rhetorical questions and diction to achieve effectiveness with his persuasive style of writing and to show his purpose of his articles, his purposes are to make the readers reading his article start to see how the current economic states of some nation are. Samuel has a persuasive style of writing; to show that he has persuasive style of writing he uses rhetorical questions. For instance, Samuel asks a question that already has the answer to it, â€Å"Can anyone doubt that the euro’s creation in 1999 was a huge blunder? † This question shows how Samuel style of writing persuades the reader to understand his point of view by presenting them with a question that has only one answer. This question is worded in a way where the only logical answer is that it is a â€Å"huge blunder†. Furthermore, Samuel asks another question that has the answer to it, â€Å"Wonder why government can’t restart the sluggish economy? The obvious answer is that the government can’t restart the sluggish economy because the economy is in such a bad spot the only thing to do is fix it. This shows the persuasive style of writing that Samuel is expressing because he’s trying to persuade his readers that the government is doing nothing to help the economy. Samuel also uses diction to express his persuasive style of writing. For example, Samuel uses the world â€Å"dreadful† to express his claim on how bad the Obamacare policy is. The word dreadful means great suffering or extremely bad, when using that word he sends his reader the message that contributing to the Obamacare policy will bring great suffering to many people. When using the word â€Å"dreadful† it persuades the readers who read Samuels articles to be against the Obamacare. In addition to how diction is used in Samuels’s persuasive style of writing, Samuel uses the word â€Å"poisoned† to show how corrupted the political climate is. The word poison means toxic substance or negative influence, using that word sends the readers a message that the political climate can poison their minds with negative influences and that it could harm them not physical but mentally. When using the word â€Å"poisoned† it persuades the readers who read Samuels’s articles to resent the political climate because it is â€Å"poisoned† and it will poison them if not avoided. Samuel emphasized his point of view and clearly defined it for the reader in a way that convinces them to believe it with his persuasive style of writing. His purpose to most of his articles is to make the readers start to see how the current economic states of some nation are and how some nations economy have their ups and downs. To show his purposes he uses literary devices such as rhetorical questions and diction to achieve effectiveness with his persuasive style of writing.

Routers essays

Routers essays A router is a general device that is used to segment a network, with the goal of limiting broadcast traffic and providing security, control, and creating multible paths. It is a device that connects multiple LANs at the network layer and has access to network addresses, and it operates with respect to protocols. Routers have advantages as well as disadvantages. Among disadvantages, this device is new in the market, and thats why the price range is kind of high. But the good side is as more they are being used in the market today, the price is being lowered. Another disadvantage is, it is a very protocol oriented device and to maintain the framework it uses very large applications, such as operating system and management software. It provides firewall service and economical WAN access. Similar tobridge a Router provides filtering and bridging functions across the network. This device converts LAN protocols into WAN protocols and performs the reverseprocess at the remote location. It can be used for point to point network and in certain situation router combines bridges or work as a bridge for the LAN. It offers more intelligance, and has more complex network and traffic control management than bridges do. Routers have the potential for flow control and error protection. There are two types of routing that a router uses, static routing and dynamic routing. Static routing is when the network Managers configure the routing table to set fixed path between two routers. If a link goes down, it will issue an alarm but would not reroute the traffic. Dynamic routing is when the router reconfigures routing table automatically and recalculates the most efficient path interm of load, line delay and bandwidth. Some of these dynamic routers even balance the traffic load across multiple links and allows many links to handle peak traffic conditions. Routers are classified as their service capabilities and workload. There are th ...
